Vidyadhari college of education was established by an well-known Educationist and former Syndicate member(Andhra University, Vishakapatnam) Dr.Jami Bheemasankararao (M.A, M.A, M.Phil Ph.D) in 2008 sponsored by Vidyadhari Educational Society. Former syndicate member Ln Baratam Lakshmanarao is the Secretary and Correspondent of this society. The institute was located at the heart of Srikakulam Municipal Corporation, beside LIC office, Women’s college road. The institute was recognized earlier by NCTE, SRC, Bangalore and affiliated to Andhra University. From 2010 onwards the institute is affiliated to newly established Dr.B.R.Ambedkar University, Etcherla, Srikakulam.
The duration of B.Ed course is 2 years from 2015 having four semesters onwards. The curriculum includes Pedagogy subjects like Mathematics, Physical sciences, Biological science, English, Telugu and Social Sciences. Other subjects like Philosophical & sociological foundations of education, learning & teaching, ICT, Art education, Understanding the self, Learning assessment, Inclusive & Environmental education etc. Teaching practice, class room observation, Activities and Project works also included under practicum part.
